Do I even qualify to make it on this page by only being 50% Korean? I am also American (50% Irish) I hope so, because I’ve been suffering from an identity crisis since my adolescence! Non-Asians classify me as an Asian girl and Asians say I’m a White girl! Well I’m just me!
I’ve always been a “creative type”, so I ended up going to film school at Chapman University in Orange County, CA. After finishing up there, I went to go live in Korea for a year to do some, “extended studying” at one of Korea’s top universities- Korea University. But really, I learned a lot of Korean in my language program, (even more with the aid of soju- the lingual lubricant.)
I don’t think I can take that stuff anymore! Bleh!
I highly recommend doing a language program to other Korean Americans; it’s a great experience!
OK so anyway, i make films, movies, moving pictures, like to tell stories.. whatever you want to call it.
It was during that year I lived in Korea which inspired me to make this short film during a recent trip to Korea called, “A Blue Note”. Please check it out!
