Student, Composer
I like clicking this “new question” button. It asked me “Whats your favorite cuss word?”
Anyway, still young, still in school.
I’m currently a music major. My main instrument is the clarinet. Though, I sing, conduct, compose. My goal is to become a composer, a Korean American composer. I write music more on the concert side, than the commercial side. I love writing music for chamber, wind ensemble, and choirs. I am absolutely fascinated by that music.
My main influences come from early 20th and 21st century composers from all around the world.
Aside from composing music I also enjoy performing and directing music. As a clarinet player, I’m busy hitting those practice rooms and always learning new repertoire.
In highschool I spent my junior and senior year running a music club which eventually took over my life but was definitely fun. I was to gather music students and form smaller ensembles so that we can play on the school concerts as well as public performances around the area. Among those groups were: Wind ensemble, Chamber orchestra, Sax Quartet, Brass quintet, String Quartet, beginning ensemble, and even a ska band! As you can imagine, this took a lot of work.
Aside from school groups, I currently sing with the Westminster Chorus, no not the one in New Jersey, but the one from Westminster California. You might have heard of us, We’re international champions, and in the summer of 09 we claimed the title Choir of the World in the Llangollen Eisteddfod.
I maybe just a small fry in the music industry. But I atleast hope to make a dent In the pool of American Composers. As a Korean American.
oh and that question earlier: it’d be A**hat
and I don’t always take pictures of myself for no reason
