Temporary College Dropout/World Traveler
I grew up in San Diego, CA, and I went to undergrad at UCLA for one year. Then I decided I didn’t know what to do with my life so I settled on (with my dad’s help) traveling the world for a while. It probably won’t help me figure things out what to do with my life, but it sure beats taking GEs without a plan and wasting money.
Nowadays, I spend my free time getting lost in foreign places, but I enjoy snowboarding, eating food, and going to the beach.
My favorite drink is Coca Cola and I think anyone who prefers Pepsi should be slapped.
I’ve thought about all kinds of things while traveling and I highly recommend it. Lacking an iPod, laptop, Gameboy, and any other technological distraction provides a lot of time to appreciate life and broaden your understanding of the world.
My dream job is to be a dolphin trainer at the San Diego Sea World, one of those people who actually perform in the shows, and I’m starting to reconsider actually pursuing this career. You only live once, right?
I don’t think I’m especially talented. I can’t play any instruments well, I’m not artistic, I’m not athletic, I can’t dance (although I wish I could), I can’t sing, I’m not a good writer, I can’t cook, and I’m not especially smart. I have a lifetime to learn all these things at my own pace, so I’m not especially bitter about being born without some awesome talent.
I am really interested in meeting new people, especially after being around the world for 4 months. I’ve met Buddhist monks from Korea, a musician from London, and a chef/hostel owner in Costa Rica (just to name a few). I like meeting people who are really different from me, and I believe that making connections with all kinds of people really makes life more interesting.
Anyway, here’s a travel blog that I haven’t updated in forever.
