Hi my name is Eugene.
Born and raised in philly, then moved to LA for grad school and work in creative advertising.
2 yrs ago i was scouted/recruited by Cheil Worldwide, South Korea’s Largest Advertising Agency. Now I live and work in Seoul making Samsung and Korean Air’s global tv commercials and ads, i also got to make a music video/ tvc with Rain/Bi for the Olympics.
Currently, my life is being consumed by creative advertising, making ads that are different. I also recently caught the H1N1 flu virus from my co-workers that came back from a business trip. Don’t worry, i’ll be fine, one week of tamiflu and i should be ok like all my other previously sick co-workers are now.
Korea is fun! And despite the struggling world economy, Cheil and Samsung is doin ok!;) So i am good!;) We still get our bonuses!~;)
I miss the warm LA weather tho, the food, the people, my friends, fam, the beaches, 3rd st promenade, santa monica, the grove, lee’s sandwiches, and especially being able to speak english anywhere with anyone.
But Korea (the motherland) has been good to me, so the only way I would go back to LA, besides for vacation, is if a cool ad agency there offered me a better offer. *hint hint!;) My contract here is up for renewal in October 2010.
Anyways, Things I admire:
-people who think differently and aren’t afraid/confident enough to show it
-people who don’t let people tell them they can’t do something
– confident intelligent women that are as pretty on the inside as they are on the out (not stuck up or princess syndrome women, ie gongjubyungs with no reason to be.)
– meeting real, deep people with similar morals, beliefs, background and sense of humor. I’ve learned that no matter how good my korean gets, humor doesn’t translate, and if u have to explain a joke its not that funny anymore =/
I love seeing and experiencing new things, things i’ve never seen before, working out, staring at beautiful things, exploring new restaurants in seoul, and coming up with cool ideas at work that no one has ever thought of, impressing people, meeting new people and making new friends with beautiful souls in seoul.;)
