LA, the Golden State :)
Biz Dev
I debated whether to open up a word doc, write, proofread, re-write, and submit. Then I figured it’s just more fun to ramble and type as it comes
So I’ve been in the states more than I’ve lived in Korea. I was born and raised there until I was 11, then my parents decided we were moving to the states. All the fighting and crying did me no good, and I found myself here in socal couple months after the declaration.
Now? I looovee it here haha I did go back to visit the motherland–and while I LOVE the food, the people (except for the rude, judgmental ones–but then again, I’m being judgmental =P), and the nightlife, but as it is, I see myself settling in California where the sun shines every day.
After graduating from Cal (where I learned to appreciate socal weather), I found myself lost. There wasn’t a set path: elementry -> jr high -> high -> college, that had existed as long as I can remember. But I wasn’t content to sit on my bums and wither away, so somehow I stumbled into Game biz. And luckily, I think this is what I want to be doing, at least the biz dev/analysis part. I was never much of a gamer, but I do love learning new things, meeting interesting people, and just feeling my way thru life.
I think being Korean American (or any dual-identity for that matter) goes a long way in being more open-minded to differences, and that perspective has certainly enriched my life in so many ways. It’s always been a big driving force in my life to be well-versed, not so much that I can show off my knowledge, but so that I can connect with all sorts of people, gain a deeper insight and overall broaden my scope of life. I hope to be in 50 years be a cool granma who still has stories to tell to her friends as well as her grandkidz.
Meh, on a lighter note: I retreat to my cave every now and then for no other reason than that I have an innate loner-esque quality in me; I get grumpy when I’m hungry; I love movies/reading/desserts/friends/looking up vocab/happy endings/deliveries/early crisp morning air/breakfast & coffee/impulsive, indulgent shopping/my parents/Internet/pictures, in no particular order.
Thanks for reading! Have a great day
