Own Words

I’m Jason Ho, and I was born in the US. My family is originally from Pusan, South Korea.

In my words, I’m proud to be Korean-American. Although I am born South Korean; people judge me immediately once I say I’m Korean, “You’re North Korean, aren’t you?” only because I tell them that I am Korean. It shouldn’t matter which Korean I am, because in the end, no matter what side, you’re just Korean, no matter South or North…

I am proud to say that I am Korean and am gay.

Now, in the asian culture, it is “obscene” or “wrong” to be gay. Well, it’s what it is. I am gay, and a Korean-American. I came out when I was 15, and that year was hell. Being gay and asian, it’s just bad. Either way, I made it out fine. I’m still alive and writing this. =D

I go to a local community college, hoping to transfer to a nice university. My major is Communications/Journalism, and I hope to work as a writer/editor for an elite magazine. :]
