I was born in Korea and adopted when I was 3.5 months old. I loved growing up in Idaho and have a wonderful family. I didn’t really have any touch with many Korean people or culture until I moved to Seattle. When I was in H.S. I took a trip and while I looked like everyone else for once in my life, I still felt different.
Now that I’ve begun the process of exploring my Korean heritage a lot of identity questions have come up. What does it mean and look like to be Korean American? How do I embrace my Korean side without diminishing the American side…and the values my parents taught me?
