Unemployed
I have just finished my double-major in English and Philosophy. I was admitted into a graduate school program for creative writing; however, I have chosen not to go due to lack of funding.
I am currently waiting for my diploma to come in the mail so that I can apply for English teaching jobs in Korea. I hope to teach on Jeju Island.
See, I love nature, and there are a lot of trails around Covington. I usually go running everyday while listening to my iPod even though Georgia weather is atrociously humid. That’s why I figure I should go to Jeju-do rather than the Seoul area.
I enjoy video games as well. I am currently playing DotA on Warcraft III. It’s a fun game. I had to reinstall everything because I reformatted my laptop and installed Ubuntu as the primary OS. I don’t have Windows anymore. Go open source!
So for now, I’m sitting at home, trying to read Dostoevsky but settling for Naruto instead. I called up some law firms to shadow, but they haven’t called back after I gave them my number. I’m playing DotA while everyone else is playing Starcraft II. I’ve been watching Season 5 of How I Met Your Mother. I’ve been looking at the same facebook profiles over and over again.
Have I mentioned, my diploma still isn’t here? Nevertheless, my understanding parents have given me a year to do whatever I want at home. They will provide a place to stay and warm meals to eat. I don’t even have to do that many chores. Since I went to college early, they reason that I can get take a break for a year before getting serious about my career and whatnot. Not your typical Korean parents. I love them so much.
But as soon as I get my diploma in the mail, I am going to make copies of it, and I will start the application process for my future in Korea.
