Own Words

I came to America at the age of 3. Having both Korean parents, and being youngest of 4 girls, my parents wanted their 4 daughters to learn English and adjust well in school. Because of this, we have all been Americanized, but we keep much of our Korean heritage and are proud to be Korean-Americans. We were very fortunate because our Korean aunt had married an American solider, and because of this, my family was able to come to America in 1975.

Growing up, I never felt different…and from this acceptance, it has made me who I am today; an out going, positive and optimistic individual. While almost losing my life in 1989 in a bad car accident, I always wondered why my life was spared. Attending the University of Florida was exciting! I married my College sweetheart and soon started a family. Being a military family – I traveled to many places and met many people. From this experience, I feel that I can relate to people from all walks of life. While I have always loved the arts and anything creative, I never knew that my purpose was to heal and share through painting. Through my art, I am able to help others see how precious life is and how we are all given a gift to share with the world. My hobbies include painting, shopping, decorating, and being with my family.

I am a mother of 3, two boys and one girl, ages 13, 11 and 9. If I could live anywhere in the world, I would choose my favorite place we lived for 2.5 years: sunny San Diego.
