Own Words

Born in Seoul and immigrated to the US, I’m a home-grown Colorado girl living in the Northeast. I went to seminary and never left – probably getting married and finding a job out here had something to do with it.

My mom ate a lot of kimchee jjigae when I was in the womb so she says that I’m fiery and feisty. Of course, I love it and anything edibly Korean. But, that and big burritos.

I don’t speak Korean well at all but I dream in Korean sometimes. I have a fun relationship with the parentals, despite having to butcher both korean and english; we somehow understand each other for the most part – even if we’re not always in agreement.

Passions: church and community, spirituality, social justice and advocating for those who are marginalized, thinking globally and acting locally

General outside interests: reading, zoos and aquariums, snowboarding, cooking and eating, playing with Ellis the boxer dog, and being pregnant with twins.

I ramble, I’m awkward, laugh too much, fall asleep in the car, trip for no reason, and daydream a lot.
