This year marks the 10th Anniversary of the University of Pennsylvania Asian Pacific American Law Students Association Conference. Over the past decade, the Asian-American legal community has matured and adapted to fresh ideas and new problems. We have doubtlessly become richer in ideas and voices, a fact that has empowered us to challenge stereotypes and overcome barriers across all levels of society.
There are now more Asian-Americans serving on the bench, working in academia, and pursuing their studies in law schools across the nation than ever before. These accomplishments are precisely why the theme of this year’s conference is Celebration: Building on a Decade of Asian-American Achievement.
At the same time, we also recognize that a new generation of Asian-Americans must continue to build upon these achievements and fashion its own unique legacy. Therefore, the University of Pennsylvania warmly opens its doors and invites you to join the hundreds of participants attending this year’s conference to explore the legal issues we encounter as part of the Asian-American community.
We are working diligently to bring you the best conference in Penn APALSA’s thirty-year history by attracting esteemed speakers, expanding the scope of our Employer Reception, offering a formal Dinner Banquet, and hosting a Closing Celebration. We hope that you will join us!
Please do not hesitate to contact me with questions at conference@pennapalsa.org. We look forward to you joining us in the City of Brotherly Love in January!
