Hello, I am Korean American. Well, technically I am half Korean and half Irish American, thus making me a Korish. I was born in Korea during the late 70’s where there was a boom of young single American service men who brought home Korean wives. Yes, I would have to say I thank the US Military for my existence, well… them and of course God.
I went on to spend my junior high and high school years in Tucson, Arizona, and then went to college at a historically black university in Oklahoma called Langston… strange, huh? Well, to keep it simple, I was recruited out of high school to play football in Oklahoma. Yes, I would have to say my life was not that of an average Korean American.
I currently reside in Southern California, and cannot get enough good Korean food to eat out here. And yes, the best Korean food is here in SoCal, period. =) I am also very involved with the half Korean community in Southern California as well. We are in a sense a hybrid version of the Korean American, but we still are Korean American, nah mean?
