Growing up as a first generation Korean American was hard. Constant clashes and different morals with my parents was a continual battle. Just because I am a woman doesn’t mean that I am a saint or a martyr. I do not need to be protected or be taken care of. I do not want to be stereotyped as the typical “submissive Asian girl.” So I started a riot grrrl zine called “Suck it.” I always wondered if there were other Korean American feminists, it would be cool to trade zines.
